Three Hours Well Spent
Morning greeting, planning, free play, small and large group time, snack and outdoor time – every morning has a rhythm children quickly come to love.
Junior to Senior Seamlessly
Two years in the same welcoming environment – junior ECCE builds the foundations, senior ECCE consolidates them ready for the move to primary school.
Outside Every Morning
Daily outdoor time is a fixed part of the routine – a chance to move, connect, with the environment, and wind down before home time.
Summer Camp in the breaks
When ECCE closes, summer camp at Blackrock keeps children aged 4-9 engaged, active, and happy – with full day and part time options available, subject to demand.
Two Years, One Trusted Team
Children in our ECCE sessional rooms spend two full years with the same team, in the same familiar environment — moving from Junior to Senior ECCE without the upheaval of a new room or new faces. This continuity means our educators get to know your child deeply over time, building on what they've learned year after year. For families, it means consistency: the same trusted relationships, the same daily rhythm, right through to the move to primary school.

Hi! I’m Catherine Blake, Team Leader for the ECCE Sessional Rooms, including the Starling and Hummingbird Rooms. I hold a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Studies (Level 8) and have been working in the Early Years sector since 1995.
I believe that strong communication between parents and team members is essential in providing the highest standard of care and support for children.
I take great pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel valued, confident and excited to learn, explore and build positive relationships.
