Every child's journey is different

No two children, or families, have the same story.

Some families need support before challenges become overwhelming. Others need help during a period of crisis. Some children require specialist therapeutic support, while others need help returning to education, preparing for adulthood or finding their voice in the justice system.

Children's lives don't fit neatly into services.

That's why neither do we.

Our approach is built on a simple belief: Children thrive when they are surrounded by a safe, caring community that listens to their voice and walks alongside them.

Our Connected Model of Support

Family Preservation and Early Intervention

Many families benefit from support at different points in their lives, particularly during times of change, stress or uncertainty. These services work alongside parents and children to strengthen relationships, build confidence and help families stay together wherever it is safe to do so.

Care Stabilisation and Support

Helping children feel seen, safe, settled and supported.

Children living in care need stability, trusted relationships, a sense of belonging and access to the support they need to flourish.  These services work alongside children, foster carers and professionals to nurture supportive relationships, strengthen placement stability, and help children feel safe, understood and supported.

Services

Therapeutic Recovery and Repair

Helping children and families heal.

Some children and families need specialist therapeutic support to recover from difficult experiences and strengthen relationships. These services help children, parents and carers understand what is being communicated through behaviour, build resilience through repair, and create positive change that lasts.

Long-Term Wellbeing and Outcomes

Building brighter futures.

Recovery is a multifaceted journey. These services help children and young people continue their education, develop confidence, build independence and create opportunities for the future.

Early Childhood Development

Giving every child the greatest possible start.

The earliest years shape lifelong health, learning and wellbeing. These services support healthy development by strengthening early relationships, promoting secure attachment and creating nurturing environments where children can thrive.

How We Work

Although every child and family is different, the way we work is guided by the same principles across every Childhood Matters service.

Child-Centred

Children are at the heart of every decision we make. We recognise every child as an individual, with their own experiences, strengths and potential.

Relationship-Based

Positive relationships are the foundation for growth, healing and lasting change. We work alongside children, parents, carers and professionals to build trust and strengthen the relationships that matter most.

Trauma-Informed

We look beyond behaviour to understand the experiences that have shaped it. By responding with curiosity, compassion, consistency and understanding, we help create environments where children can feel safe enough to grow and recover.

Strengths-Based

Every child, family and community has strengths. We build on what is already working while providing support where it is needed most.

Working Together

Children achieve the best outcomes when families, carers, schools, health professionals and communities work together. Collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do.

Accessing Our Services

Every family's journey is different, and so is the support they may need.

Every service has its own pathway. Many of our services receive referrals from Tusla and other professionals working with children and families, while some also welcome direct contact from parents and carers.

Each service page explains who the service is for and how to access it. If you're unsure which service is the best fit, please contact us. We'll listen, explore your options with you, and help connect you with the right support.

Every Journey is Different

Some children and families will only ever need one Childhood Matters service.
Others may benefit from different services as their circumstances change.
Whatever that journey looks like, our aim remains the same:
To help every child feel safe, heard, valued and supported and to help create the conditions they need to thrive.
